June 15, 2009 - The Runaway Winner stallion Flew Bye A Winner got his first stakes winner on Sunday when Chicka Wow Wow notched a victory in the $46,265 Lucille Rowe Derby at Arapahoe Park.
The 15-year-old stallion is owned by Alfred Marez of Ft. Lupton, Colorado, who bred and owns Chicka Wow Wow. Flew Bye A Winner won two of 11 starts, and contested the 1996 Cherry Creek Futurity (RG3) and 1997 Aurora Derby (RG3).
Bred by Jean Chavers, Flew Bye A Winner is out of the Raise Your Glass (TB) mare Flew Bye You. He is a half brother to Grade 3-placed runner Cha Hua Hua.
From two crops to race, Flew Bye A Winner has two starters. |
